Is a partner of Toms Mills & Kuruc PLLC. The firm devotes its practice to general civil litigation and its attorneys have been serving North Carolina residents and businesses for more then 30 years. Ms. Kuruc focuses her practice in construction law and has represented general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on both public and private projects. Typical claims have involved scheduling and performance issues, unjust termination, delay and disruption, lien claims, bond claims and construction contract disputes.
Ms. Kuruc has extensive trial experience. She began her career in a small law firm in Chicago practicing exclusively in labor and employment law. Ms. Kuruc then spent more then seven years with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office where she tried hundreds of cases. Since her return to North Carolina in 2002, she has practiced exclusively in civil litigation.
Ms. Kuruc received her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Joan is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in North Carolina.
